Croatia visa appointment in the UK: London, Manchester, Edinburgh

A traveller smiling at a phone in the city

VisaBot is independent of VFS Global and the Embassy of the Republic of Croatia; the Croatian authorities alone decide whether a visa is issued.

The Embassy of Croatia in London sends short-stay visa applicants to VFS Global, which runs centres in London, Manchester and Edinburgh, each booked online. VisaBot watches the calendar for your centre and category, then sends an alert or, with AutoBooking, books a date inside your chosen window in the applicants' names. The Embassy decides on the visa.

A traveller framing a shot with a camera

Watching the Croatia calendar, then booking inside your date window

VFS Global takes Croatia bookings through its online portal; its contact centre cannot book for you or see when new times will appear.

  1. 1

Choose a centre and a category

Pick London, Manchester or Edinburgh and your Croatia category; VisaBot then scans that calendar day and night.

  2. 2

    Notifications: you take the date

A push alert reaches you in the app, with email alerts available too; you then book the Croatia date yourself on the VFS Global portal.

  3. 3

    AutoBooking: dates you can make

Set the dates every traveller can attend; the bot books inside that window for up to five applicants, in their own names.

  4. 4

    Nothing to upload at booking

No passport photo, selfie or face scan is needed when the bot books; fingerprints and a photo are taken at the centre.

No subscription makes VFS Global release more Croatia dates, moves a booked date or sways the Embassy.

Three VFS Global centres for Croatia, and why the Edinburgh consulate is not one

Croatia applications are lodged in person at a VFS Global centre, where fingerprints and a photo are taken.

London — VFS Global

Croatia Visa Application Centre, 66 Wilson Street, London EC2A 2BT, the address the Embassy gives to visa applicants living in the UK.

Manchester — VFS Global

Croatia Visa Application Centre, 50 Devonshire Street North, Manchester M12 6JH. Its booking list adds one category, Visa to Croatia.

Edinburgh — VFS Global

Croatia Visa Application Centre, 1 Rennie's Isle, Leith, Edinburgh EH6 6QT. Croatia's honorary consulate in Edinburgh cannot process visas.

Pick a centre each applicant can reach on the day: nobody can attend in another person's place. Passports come back by VFS courier, not from the Embassy.

Seven Croatia booking categories, and the paperwork behind each

VisaBot follows one category at one centre, so your choice decides which Croatia dates reach you. Manchester alone offers a seventh category, Visa to Croatia.

Tourism
Holidays with accommodation in your name; a private rental also needs the Croatian approval decision.
Family and Friend Visit
Staying with people in Croatia; your host provides a guarantor's letter (jamstveno pismo) certified by a Croatian notary.
Business
Work trips; the Croatian company provides a guarantor's letter as a legal person, with proof of solvency.
Conference
Conferences and events; VFS Global covers their documents under Cultural/Sport Events/Study.
Study
Short study stays, with enrolment proof from a Croatian university or faculty.
EU/EEA family member
Spouses, registered partners and children travelling with an EU, EEA or Swiss relative: fewer documents, no visa fee.
Visa to Croatia
Listed at Manchester alone, with no separate VFS Global description; confirm it fits your trip before choosing it.
  • Choosing EU/EEA family member as a British citizen's relative: VFS Global applies the normal Croatian rules to family members of UK nationals.
  • Picking Croatia for its calendar: the Embassy issues a visa when the main part of the trip is in Croatia; otherwise apply to the main destination.

Setting up the Croatia search: CROVISA, date window, travellers, payment

  1. 1

    Complete CROVISA first

Fill in Croatia's visa form online on CROVISA, then print and sign it. Completing the form does not lodge the application; the printout goes to the centre.

  2. 2

Set a window you can keep

Give AutoBooking dates every traveller can attend; a narrow window matches fewer dates. Adding a window raises the prepayment, as the tariff card shows.

  3. 3

    Put every traveller in

Croatia AutoBooking takes up to five applicants per subscription, and one Notifications subscription covers the whole group.

  4. 4

    Fill in each passport profile

Booking starts once every applicant's passport and personal details are complete and accurate.

  5. 5

    Codes, then the second payment

One-time VFS codes go to VisaBot's system inbox, not yours, so tell support before signing in to VFS yourself. Pay the balance within 48 hours of its link, or the date lapses.

From the first alert to a passport back by courier: Croatia timing

VisaBot cannot tell in advance when a centre will add new Croatia dates, and the first alert can take several days. AutoBooking also skips dates outside your window or without room for every applicant.

A booked appointment is not a visa. The Embassy of Croatia decides within 15 days as a rule, exceptionally in 30 to 60 days or more, and may ask for an interview or more documents.

Applications go in no earlier than six months and, as a rule, no later than 15 calendar days before the trip.

Schengen since 2023: the Croatia rules that apply to UK residents

British passport holders
No visa for Croatia for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Who applies from the UK
Non-UK nationals with a UK residence permit valid a month past leaving Croatia; UK visit visa holders apply where they live.
Main destination
Croatia, when the main part of the trip is there; if not, the Schengen country of the main destination.
Form and appointment
CROVISA form online, then a VFS Global appointment; applications are lodged in person, not by post.
Fees
Visa fee plus VFS Global service fee per applicant, due when applying; amounts on VFS Global's Croatia pages.
Who decides
The Embassy of the Republic of Croatia in London; refusals can be appealed in writing within 15 days.

Croatia joined the Schengen area on 1 January 2023, so a Croatian visa issued since then is a Schengen visa unless its sticker says otherwise.

CROVISA, host letters, the visa itself: outside VisaBot's remit

  • VisaBot does not fill in CROVISA, arrange a host's letter or check documents, and nobody from VisaBot attends the appointment.
  • VisaBot is not affiliated with VFS Global, BLS International, TLScontact, the Embassy of Croatia or any government body.
  • VisaBot does not resell or hold appointments; every Croatia booking is in the applicants' names through the official VFS Global system.
  • VisaBot cannot add Croatia dates, swap a booked date for another or influence the Embassy's decision.

VisaBot is a service of TREVOR PHILIPS LTD, company number 14986978 (England and Wales), independent of VFS Global and the Croatian authorities.

Croatia appointments from the UK: questions and straight answers

Should I book my Croatia visa appointment in London, Manchester or Edinburgh?

Book the centre every applicant can reach on the day: London, Manchester and Edinburgh all take Croatia applications for the same Embassy. Edinburgh suits Scotland, where Croatia's honorary consulate cannot accept visa applications. Manchester also lists the Visa to Croatia category.

Which category should I choose for a Croatia visa appointment?

Choose the category matching the main purpose of the trip, because VisaBot follows that category's dates and no other. Tourism covers holidays, Family and Friend Visit needs a host's notarised letter, and Business or Conference relies on papers from a Croatian organisation. EU/EEA family member suits relatives travelling with an EU national.

What can I do if VFS shows no Croatia visa appointments?

Keep a subscription running instead of refreshing by hand: VisaBot checks your centre and category for the 30 days of the subscription and alerts you, or books, when a date appears. VFS Global's contact centre cannot book or see upcoming times. A wider date window gives the bot more to catch.

How many people can one Croatia subscription cover?

AutoBooking for Croatia takes up to five applicants in one subscription and books them together, paid per applicant. One Notifications subscription covers every traveller, though you then book each VFS Global appointment yourself. Every traveller needs an appointment of their own, as Croatia applications are lodged in person.

Why use VisaBot instead of refreshing the VFS Croatia page myself?

VisaBot checks the Croatia calendar at your centre without breaks, so a newly released date reaches you by alert rather than luck. Refreshing by hand works if you can watch the page constantly. AutoBooking also secures a date in your window, in your names, without holding or reselling slots.

Can I apply at the Croatian Embassy in London instead of VFS Global?

Usually not: the Embassy refers UK residents who need a visa to VFS Global and accepts no applications by post. Family members of Croatian or other EU nationals may request an Embassy appointment by email, but it warns of a long waiting list. Wherever the file is lodged, the Embassy decides.

Do I need a visa for Croatia if I live in the UK?

Your passport decides, not UK residence. British citizens need no visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period; many other nationals do, even with UK residence. Refugees and stateless persons holding a UK-issued travel document are exempt too, but UK Certificate of Travel holders are not.

How much does VisaBot cost for a Croatia appointment?

Notifications cost from £35 a month, and one subscription covers every applicant on it. AutoBooking costs from £100 per applicant; the final amount depends on the visa centre's fee.
