Greece visa appointment in the UAE: VFS Global Dubai, Abu Dhabi

A traveller framing a shot with a camera

VisaBot is an independent service with no link to VFS Global or the Greek Embassy, and the visa decision rests with the Embassy's consular office in Abu Dhabi.

Greece short-stay visa applications from the UAE go through two VFS Global centres: Wafi Mall in Dubai and the World Trade Centre mall in Abu Dhabi. VisaBot follows the Greece calendar for the centre and category you pick, then alerts you or, with AutoBooking, books the date in your name. The Embassy of Greece in Abu Dhabi decides on the visa.

Only with the help of the Bot I was able to book an appointment and apply for a visa in Abu Dhabi! Very useful tool with frequent updates if you don't have time to log in and check for a new slot every half an hour!

What VisaBot does on the Greece route, up to the booked date

AutoBooking works on every Greece option VisaBot offers in the UAE: General in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Primetime in Dubai.

  1. 1

You set a centre and a category

Dubai or Abu Dhabi, then General, or Primetime in Dubai. The bot follows that Greece calendar alone.

  2. 2

The bot checks VFS Global for you

VisaBot scans the Greece calendar constantly, so nobody in your group keeps reloading the VFS Global site.

  3. 3

    Notifications: you book it

A push alert in the VisaBot app, or an email if you add it, flags a new Greece date for you to book with VFS Global.

  4. 4

    AutoBooking: the bot books it

Each applicant is booked in their own name. A prepayment per applicant covers the centre's booking fee; the balance follows once the date is secured.

VisaBot cannot create Greece dates VFS Global has not released, swap a booked date for another or sway the Embassy's decision.

Dubai's Wafi Mall or Abu Dhabi's WTC mall: where Greece applications go

The Embassy of Greece accepts applications at either VFS Global centre, so pick by category and by how fast you can get there.

Dubai โ€” VFS Global

Visa Application Centre, Wafi Mall, First Floor, Phase 5 (Horus), Umm Hurrair 2, Dubai. Both Greece categories, General and Primetime, are booked here.

Abu Dhabi โ€” VFS Global

Level B2 (Lower Ground), The Mall, World Trade Centre, Khalifa Bin Zayed the 1st Street, Abu Dhabi. Greece appointments here are in the General category.

Each subscription covers a single centre, so watching both cities for Greece takes two subscriptions. AutoBooking takes a fitting date the moment it finds one, so favour a centre you can reach quickly.

General or Primetime: matching the Greece category to your visit

VisaBot tracks the category on your subscription, so a Greece date released in the other category will not reach you.

General
The standard Greece appointment at both centres. AutoBooking here runs without a date window.
Primetime
Offered in Dubai: VFS Global's Prime Time service, a visit outside the centre's regular schedule. AutoBooking can keep to your dates.
  • Expecting Primetime in Abu Dhabi: VisaBot offers this Greece category at the Dubai centre alone.
  • Treating Primetime as a faster visa: Prime Time changes when you visit the centre, not how quickly the Embassy decides.
  • Reading General as a trip purpose: tourism, business or a family visit goes on the visa form, while General is the appointment type.

Settings that decide whether a Greece date fits your application

  1. 1

    Centre and category first

Choose Dubai or Abu Dhabi, then General or Primetime; a second centre needs its own subscription.

  2. 2

    All travellers together

Notifications covers everyone on the application. AutoBooking books up to five applicants together, each charged separately.

  3. 3

    Applicant details to hand

AutoBooking needs each applicant's name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and expiry, UAE address, phone and email.

  4. 4

    A date window on Primetime

Dubai Primetime lets you limit AutoBooking to dates you can attend, for an extra charge; General has no window.

  5. 5

    Ready before you start

On General, start AutoBooking once documents and leave are sorted: the bot books the date it finds and cannot swap it.

  6. 6

    Codes go to VisaBot

VFS Global's one-time login codes reach VisaBot's system mailbox; if you sign in to VFS yourself, support gives you the code, valid 3โ€“5 minutes.

What decides when a Greece date appears, and when the visa follows

New Greece dates in Dubai and Abu Dhabi come out with no known pattern, and VisaBot cannot see the next release in advance. Dates do not appear every day, so a first alert can take a few days.

Interest in Greece visas from the UAE peaks from April to June, ahead of the Greek summer, so an early start leaves more room. AutoBooking passes over dates that cannot fit every applicant or, on Primetime, fall outside your window.

An appointment is not a visa. After you lodge at VFS Global, the Embassy's consular office in Abu Dhabi normally decides within 15 days, and EU rules allow up to 45 when a closer look is needed. For some nationalities, consulting other Schengen states can take up to 14 days.

Who can apply for Greece from the UAE, and who makes the decision

Main destination
Greece, if you spend the most nights there; for equal stays, the first Schengen country you enter.
Who applies from the UAE
Residents whose passport needs a Schengen visa, with a UAE residence permit valid 3 months beyond leaving the Schengen area.
Emirati citizens
No Schengen visa needed for stays of up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
Decision
The consular office of the Embassy of Greece in Abu Dhabi; VFS Global collects applications and fingerprints.
When to apply
No earlier than six months and no later than 15 days before the trip.
Fees
A Schengen visa fee plus a VFS Global service fee; amounts are on the Embassy's and VFS Global's pages.

Family members of EU, EEA and Swiss citizens covered by EU free movement rules can qualify for a free, accelerated procedure. Stays in Greece longer than 90 days need a Greek national visa, which is a separate process.

Where VisaBot's role on the Greece route ends

  • VisaBot does not issue Greek visas or have any say in the Embassy's decision.
  • VisaBot has no affiliation with VFS Global, BLS International, TLScontact or any embassy, consulate or government body.
  • VisaBot does not resell or hold Greece appointments: bookings are made in the applicants' own names through VFS Global.
  • VisaBot does not check documents, fill in the visa form or attend the appointment for you.

VisaBot is operated by TREVOR PHILIPS LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 14986978.

Greece appointments in Dubai and Abu Dhabi: common questions

Should I book my Greece visa appointment in Dubai or Abu Dhabi?

Pick the centre you can reach quickly: the Embassy of Greece accepts applications at both VFS Global centres. Dubai offers General and Primetime, while Abu Dhabi offers General. AutoBooking takes a fitting date the moment it finds one, so an easy journey matters more than the city.

Which Greece category should I pick: General or Primetime?

Pick General unless you want VFS Global's Prime Time service in Dubai. General is the standard Greece appointment at both centres. Primetime means visiting the Dubai centre outside its regular schedule and is the one Greece category with an AutoBooking date window. Neither speeds up the Embassy's decision.

VFS shows no Greece appointments. Is it worth subscribing?

Yes, if your trip is weeks away: VisaBot checks the Greece calendar for your centre and category throughout a 30-day subscription, and waitlists are supported. New dates follow no known pattern, so the first alert can take a few days. No service can open a date VFS Global has not released.

How many people can one Greece subscription cover?

One Notifications subscription covers every traveller on the application. AutoBooking for Greece books up to five applicants together and charges per applicant: a prepayment for each at sign-up, then the balance after booking. The final price depends on the centre's fee and appears in the price breakdown.

How is VisaBot different from refreshing the VFS Greece page myself?

VisaBot refreshes for you around the clock, for the Greece centre and category you set, and alerts you once a date appears; AutoBooking also books it in your names. The bot sees the same official calendar as everyone else, so it saves time and missed chances rather than unlocking hidden dates.

Can I choose the date AutoBooking books for my Greece appointment?

Yes on Primetime in Dubai, where a window of dates you can attend costs extra. On General in both cities, AutoBooking has no window and books the date it finds, and a booked date cannot be swapped, so start General when any near date suits you.

Do I need a UAE residence visa to apply for Greece from Dubai?

Yes: as a rule you apply where you legally live, and the Embassy's checklist asks for a residence permit valid three months beyond your exit from the Schengen area. Emirati citizens need no Schengen visa for stays of up to 90 days in any 180.

How much does VisaBot cost for a Greece appointment in the UAE?

Notifications cost from 200AED a month, and one subscription covers every applicant on it. AutoBooking costs from 500AED per applicant; the final amount depends on the visa centre's fee.
