Greece visa appointment in Saudi Arabia: VFS Riyadh, Jeddah

Download on the App StoreGet it on Google Play
A traveller smiling at a phone in the city

VisaBot is not linked to VFS Global, the Embassy of Greece or any Saudi authority, and every Greece visa decision is made by Greek consular officers alone.

VFS Global handles Greece short-stay appointments in Saudi Arabia: Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar, plus regional points in Al Jouf, Al Qassim, Jazan, Madinah, Makkah and Najran. VisaBot watches the Greece calendar for your city and category, alerts you to a new date or, with AutoBooking, books it in each applicant's name. Greek consular officers decide the visa.

What the bot does on a Greece booking, from city choice to VFS date

AutoBooking runs on every Greece route VisaBot covers in Saudi Arabia, in all nine cities and categories, each with an optional date range.

  1. 1

You fix the city and category

Pick one of the nine cities and the VFS Global category for your passport; the bot then checks that single Greece calendar day and night.

  2. 2

    Notifications: you take the date

A push alert in the VisaBot app, or email if you add it, flags a new Greece date for you to book on the VFS site.

  3. 3

    AutoBooking: the bot takes it

The bot books a date that fits everyone, in each applicant's name. VFS routes are paid as a prepayment per applicant, then the balance after booking.

The bot works with the dates VFS Global publishes: it cannot add new ones, move a booked appointment or affect the consular decision.

Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar or a regional chamber: where Greece files go

All nine Greece cities in Saudi Arabia are run by VFS Global; the city you pick is where you hand in the file and give fingerprints in person.

Riyadh β€” VFS Global

2591 Makkah Road, Al Hada, beside the Courtyard Marriott, opposite Diplomatic Quarter Gate 2. Takes every GCC and Non-GCC Greece category.

Jeddah β€” VFS Global

TasHeel Commercial Plaza, ground floor, Suwaid Bin Sakher Street, Al Mohammadiyah District 1. The western centre, with the Riyadh category set.

Al Khobar β€” VFS Global

Listed by VFS Global as Dammam: first floor, Lulu Mall, Al Adhamah District. Greece airport transit visas go here or to Riyadh, not Jeddah.

Makkah and Madinah β€” VFS Global

Regional points at the local chambers of commerce. Category General, plus Spouse Of EU Citizen in Makkah.

Jazan and Najran β€” VFS Global

Regional points at the local chambers of commerce in the south, with the General category.

Al Jouf and Al Qassim β€” VFS Global

Regional points at the local chambers of commerce in the north and centre, with the General category.

Choose a city you can reach on the day: AutoBooking takes the first date that fits, and a booked date cannot be exchanged. Each VisaBot subscription follows a single city.

GCC, Non-GCC or General: the Greece category that matches your passport

VisaBot follows a single category, so Greece dates released under another one do not reach you. VFS Global turns away an applicant booked under the wrong category, and the service fee is lost.

GCC Standard Appointment
Saudi and other GCC citizens, regular appointment.
Non-GCC Standard Appointment
Expat iqama holders, for example Indian, Pakistani, Filipino or Egyptian nationals.
GCC Premium Lounge
GCC citizens who choose VFS Global's Premium Lounge service at the centre.
Non-GCC Premium Lounge
Expat residents who choose the same Premium Lounge service.
GCC EU Spouse
GCC citizens married to an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen they travel with or join.
Non-GCC EU Spouse
Expat residents married to an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen they travel with or join.
Spouse Of EU Citizen
Spouses of EU citizens in Riyadh, Jeddah, Al Khobar and Makkah.
Standard appointment
A regular appointment without a GCC or Non-GCC label, in the three main cities.
Premium Lounge
The lounge service without a GCC or Non-GCC label, in the three main cities.
General
The category at the six regional points, Makkah included.
  • Booking GCC on an expat passport, or Non-GCC as a Saudi citizen: the label follows the passport you travel on.
  • Choosing Premium Lounge to get the visa sooner: VFS Global's Greece checklist says no express fee buys a faster appointment or procedure.
  • Picking an EU-spouse category when your EU, EEA or Swiss partner is neither travelling with you nor waiting in Europe.

Getting a Greece subscription right before the search starts

  1. 1

    A single city and category

Pick the city where you will hand in the file and the category for your passport; another city or category needs its own subscription.

  2. 2

A date range you can attend

Every Greece route in Saudi Arabia lets AutoBooking stick to dates you set, for an extra charge. With no range, the bot books the first date that fits.

  3. 3

    Everyone on one booking

AutoBooking for Greece takes up to five applicants, charged per person; one Notifications subscription covers every traveller.

  4. 4

    Login codes stay with VisaBot

VFS one-time codes reach VisaBot's system email, so you forward nothing. Logging in to VFS yourself? Ask support for the code; it lasts 3–5 minutes.

  5. 5

Start once the trip is firm

A booked date cannot be exchanged, so switch AutoBooking on once leave, iqama validity and travel dates are settled.

How long a Greece date takes to appear, and what follows the appointment

New Greece dates at VFS Global in Saudi Arabia appear with no known pattern, and VisaBot cannot predict the next release. Dates do not open every day, so the first alert may take several days.

An appointment is not a visa. After you hand in the file, Greece decides most short-stay applications within 15 days; EU rules allow up to 45 days for a closer look, and consulting other Schengen states on some nationalities adds up to 14 days.

Greece accepts applications no earlier than six months and, as a rule, no later than 15 days before departure, so start the appointment search well ahead.

Greece visa rules for Saudi citizens and iqama holders

Main destination
Greece, if you spend the most nights there; with equal stays, the Schengen country you enter first.
Who applies in KSA
Saudi citizens and legal residents; an iqama has to stay valid at least 3 months after the planned return.
Where to book
VFS Global, for Type C stays of up to 90 days; national D visas go to the Embassy of Greece in Riyadh.
Fees
Per application: the Schengen visa fee and VFS Global's service fee, listed on VFS Global's Greece pages.
Who decides
Greek consular officers; the Embassy of Greece in Riyadh uses VFS Global to collect applications and biometrics.

Family members of EU, EEA or Swiss citizens who travel with or join that citizen get a free, faster procedure with a shorter document list and can lodge at the consular office in Riyadh.

VFS Global publishes separate Greece checklists for the Riyadh and Jeddah jurisdictions; expats also need an exit and re-entry visa valid beyond their return.

Greece appointments at VFS in Saudi Arabia: questions people ask

Which VFS city should I choose for a Greece appointment in Saudi Arabia?

Choose the city where you can attend in person, because you hand in the file and give fingerprints there. Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar offer every Greece category, GCC and Non-GCC. The six regional points offer General, and Makkah adds Spouse Of EU Citizen. Each subscription follows a single city.

Which Greece category should an Indian, Pakistani or Filipino iqama holder book?

Expat residents in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Khobar normally book a Non-GCC category: Non-GCC Standard Appointment, Non-GCC Premium Lounge or, for spouses of EU citizens, Non-GCC EU Spouse. GCC categories are for Gulf citizens, and regional cities use General. If VFS shows another name, VisaBot support can switch your category.

What can I do if no Greece dates show at VFS in Riyadh or Jeddah?

Subscribe for your city and category and let VisaBot keep checking: new Greece dates appear with no known pattern, so an empty VFS screen says little about next week. AutoBooking books a fitting date even while the site shows nothing, and waitlists are supported. No service can open dates VFS Global has not released.

Can VisaBot book Greece appointments for my whole family in Saudi Arabia?

Yes, up to five applicants per AutoBooking subscription on every Greece route in Saudi Arabia. The bot finds a date that suits all of them and books each person in their own name, charging per applicant. One Notifications subscription covers every traveller on the application.

What does VisaBot add if I can check VFS Greece myself?

Speed and persistence, not special access. VisaBot sees the same VFS Global calendar as everyone else, with no hidden dates. The bot checks your Greece city and category without a break and alerts you the moment a date appears, or books it with AutoBooking while you are at work or asleep.

Can AutoBooking stick to my travel dates for a Greece appointment?

Yes. Every Greece route in Saudi Arabia lets you set a range of dates you can attend, and AutoBooking skips anything outside it; the range adds a charge to the prepayment. Without one, the bot books the first date that fits, and a booked date cannot be exchanged.

Can I book a Greece visa appointment at the Embassy in Riyadh instead of VFS?

Yes, but most short-stay applicants use VFS Global, which collects Greece applications and fingerprints for the Embassy's consular office. The consular office in Riyadh also takes short-stay applications by appointment, including from relatives of EU, EEA or Swiss citizens, and handles national D visas. VisaBot works with VFS Global calendars, not Embassy appointments.

How much does VisaBot cost for a Greece appointment in Saudi Arabia?

Notifications cost from 95 SAR a month, and one subscription covers every applicant on it. AutoBooking costs from 250 SAR per applicant; the final amount depends on the visa centre's fee.
