Portugal visa appointment in Pakistan: Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore

VisaBot works independently of VFS Global, Gerry's and the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad, and the embassy alone decides each Portugal visa.
Portugal visa appointments in Pakistan are requested by email from the Consular Section of the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad. Files are then lodged with the embassy's provider, Gerry's, at Portugal Visa Application Centres in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore. VisaBot does not cover Portugal from Pakistan, and the embassy decides every visa.
VisaBot reviews on Trustpilot
Visabot really helped me a lot for booking appointment, as whenever I opened website no slot found but than from there service I get notifications and I book appointment for myself.
How a Portugal appointment is requested from Pakistan
VisaBot has no Portugal option for Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore, so it sends no alerts and makes no bookings for Portugal. The embassy takes appointment requests exclusively by email and replies with a date.
- 1
Write to the Consular Section
Email sconsular.islamabad@mne.pt with your full name, passport number, occupation, visa type, travel plan, purpose of visit and any earlier visas, all in the body of the email.
- 2
Sign it and attach proof
Sign with full name, phone, email and exact purpose. National visas need proof: an invitation letter or work contract, a university letter with enrolment proof, or AIMA approval.
- 3
Wait for the embassy's reply
The Consular Section may take up to 15 working days to answer. Incomplete requests are disregarded, and repeated same-day emails go unanswered or get the address blocked.
- 4
Lodge the file with Gerry's
On the date given, bring the signed form, documents and passport to the Portugal Visa Application Centre and pay its service fee there in cash.
VisaBot cannot send, speed up or track any of these steps; from Pakistan it serves Austria, Denmark, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, Spain and Switzerland, plus Sweden from Islamabad.
Portugal Visa Application Centres in Pakistan, and the embassy behind them
The Embassy of Portugal accepts applications exclusively through its external provider, Gerry's, at the Portugal Visa Application Centres that VFS Global lists in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore.
Portugal Visa Application Centre, Park Road, Chattha Bakhtawar, Chak Shahzad, Islamabad. Takes files, returns passports and charges a service fee in cash.
Portugal Visa Application Centre, Bahria Complex IV, 4th Floor, Main Chaudhary Khaliq UZ Zaman Road, Gizri, Clifton, Karachi. Takes files, returns passports and charges a service fee in cash.
Portugal Visa Application Centre, 8 A Queen's Road, opposite the CCPO Office, Lahore, where VFS Global moved it from 29 June 2026. Takes files and returns passports.
Consular Section, House 8, Street 36, sector F-7, Islamabad. Answers appointment emails and decides every Portugal visa; files go to Gerry's, not here.
Which Portugal visa to name in the appointment request
A Portugal appointment request must state the purpose of the trip. Up to 90 days in any 180-day period calls for a Schengen visa; longer stays need a Portuguese national visa.
Schengen visa: Tourism- Holidays with Portugal as the sole or main destination of the trip.
Schengen visa: Business- Meetings and business contacts that end within 90 days.
Schengen visa: Visiting family or friends- Private visits; the host in Portugal can sign a term of responsibility.
Schengen visa: Short term study, research or internship and practical trainings- Courses, research and training that end within 90 days.
Family members of Portuguese, EU, EEA or Swiss citizens- Spouses or partners, children under 21 or dependent, and dependent parents; no visa fee when joining the EU relative.
Temporary Stay Visa- Over 90 days and up to a year: seasonal work, study, remote work, medical treatment and similar.
Residence Visa- More than a year: employment, self-employment, research, study, family reunification or retirement.
Email reply first, decision second: how long each stage takes
Three stages take time, and no VisaBot plan shortens any of them: the embassy's reply to your appointment email, the date it gives, and the decision. The reply alone may take up to 15 working days.
For a Schengen visa, the embassy usually decides within 15 working days of a complete application with the visa fee paid, or up to 45 calendar days when closer examination is needed. National visas follow Portugal's own deadlines, such as 30 days for a temporary stay visa.
EU rules allow a Schengen application no earlier than six months and at least 15 days before travel. The Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad asks applicants to apply well ahead, so send the appointment email early.

Portugal visa rules that apply to applicants in Pakistan
- Who decides
- The Consular Section of the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad, wherever in Pakistan the file is lodged.
- Appointment channel
- Email to sconsular.islamabad@mne.pt exclusively; requests sent any other way are not considered.
- Who applies here
- Pakistani citizens and foreign nationals legally resident in Pakistan, under the EU Visa Code rule on where to apply.
- Main destination
- Portugal must be the sole or main destination of the trip, or the first point of entry when no country stands out.
- Fees
- A visa fee per application plus the centre's service fee; children under 6 and family joining an EU or Swiss citizen pay no visa fee.
- Travel medical insurance
- Compulsory for Schengen visas under the EU Visa Code, covering medical expenses, urgent care and repatriation.
Portuguese national visa files need civil documents and a police character certificate apostilled by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Documents must be under six months old at submission, the police certificate under 90 days.
A Portugal visa refusal can be challenged within 15 days of notification by a complaint to the Consular Section, lodged in person at Gerry's as a walk-in, without an appointment and against a fee.
What VisaBot cannot do for a Portugal visa from Pakistan
- VisaBot has no Portugal route from Islamabad, Karachi or Lahore and sends no alerts about Portugal appointments.
- VisaBot does not write or send the appointment email, fill in forms, check documents or follow an application through the embassy.
- VisaBot does not resell or hold appointments. Portugal dates come exclusively from the embassy, so paid offers of Portugal slots are not official.
- VisaBot has no influence on the outcome: the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad decides every Portugal visa.
VisaBot is run by TREVOR PHILIPS LTD (England and Wales, company number 14986978) as an independent service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting for VFS Global, Gerry's, BLS International, TLScontact or any embassy, consulate or government body.
Portugal appointments from Pakistan: questions applicants ask
What should a Portugal visa appointment email to the embassy include?
Put everything in the body of an email to sconsular.islamabad@mne.pt: full name, passport number, occupation, visa type, travel plan, purpose and previous visas if any. Sign it with your name, phone number, email and the exact purpose. National visa requests also attach their proof of purpose, and incomplete emails get no reply.
Which city should I choose for a Portugal visa application in Pakistan?
Name your preferred city in the appointment email: the Embassy of Portugal in Islamabad sets the appointment in its reply and does not publish how centres are assigned. VFS Global lists Portugal centres in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore, where files are handed in and passports later collected.
Which visa type should I name when I request a Portugal appointment?
Name the visa that fits the length and purpose of the trip. Tourism, business, family visits or short study of up to 90 days in any 180-day period call for a Schengen visa. Longer stays need a Portuguese national visa: temporary stay for up to a year, or residence beyond that.
What can I do if the embassy sends no reply or no Portugal date?
Check the request first: the embassy disregards emails missing a required detail, the signature or, for national visas, the supporting document. Allow up to 15 working days and do not resend it: VFS Global warns that more than two identical emails a day go unanswered and repeat senders can be blocked. If most of the trip is elsewhere in Schengen, apply to that country.
How many people does one VisaBot subscription cover, and does it include Portugal?
No VisaBot subscription can include Portugal from Pakistan, because VisaBot has no Portugal route here. On the destinations VisaBot does cover, one Notifications subscription serves every applicant in the same request for 30 days and does not renew on its own. Each Portugal traveller, children included, lodges a separate visa application.
Is VisaBot different from refreshing the VFS Portugal page myself?
For Portugal from Pakistan, neither produces a date: appointment requests go exclusively to the embassy by email, and the date arrives in its reply. On routes VisaBot covers, such as Austria or the Netherlands at VFS Global, the bot constantly scans the centre's calendar and sends a push notification when a date opens.
Can I still get a Portugal job seeker visa appointment in Pakistan?
No. VFS Global says job seeker visa appointments for Portugal are not available, and the embassy says the job seeker visa was discontinued after changes to Portugal's immigration law. Portugal's visa portal lists a newer skilled job seeker visa as not yet available at consular offices.
